A Win-Win for All
Caroline Hospice Offers $7,500.00 in Tax Credits to
Businesses who Contribute
Individuals can also now Donate and Receive Tax
Credits.
Caroline Hospice Foundation has $7,500.00 remaining in
credits for operating expenses, support services and
equipment for terminally ill patients in Caroline County.
Caroline Hospice Foundation is authorized to give $7,500.00
in tax credits, representing $30,000.00 from contributions,
as an incentive for Maryland businesses to donate money,
goods or real property to support the Caroline Home for
Hospice at 613 S. 5th Avenue in Denton, MD.
Contributions for money, goods or real property (i.e.,
equipment) worth $500 or more are eligible for Tax Credits.
Contributions of services or labor are not eligible for
tax credits. Maryland businesses may claim a State tax
credit equal to 50 percent of their contributions. For
example, a business that contributes $1,000.00 to the
operating expenses of the Caroline Home for Hospice would
receive $500.00 as a tax credit. This $500.00 is taken
off of the bottom-line of your tax bill. Businesses may
claim a maximum of $250,000 in tax credits per year,
representing $500,000 in contributions.
These tax credits are in addition to the deductions Maryland
based businesses receive on both Federal and State taxes as
a result of their charitable contribution. Businesses must
use the tax credit against taxes from a prior year. Any
business contemplating making a donation is encouraged to
consult with their accountant or tax professional for
information about their specific tax benefits.
Any entity that conducts a trade or business in the State
and is subject to: the State income tax on individuals or
corporations; the public service company franchise tax or
the insurance premiums tax can make a contribution. These
types of entities generally include corporations, public
utility companies, insurance companies, financial
insinuations, S corporations, partnerships, sole
proprietorships and limited liability corporations.
It's a win/win for all involved, so do your business a
favor and support the efforts of the Caroline Hospice
Foundation. For more information contact Linda Evans,
Executive Director at 410-479-3500 or email
